Taber Abraser
Taber Abraser
Manufactory£ºUSA Taber Industries

The TABER Abraser (Abrader) was developed to perform accelerated wear testing also known as the Taber Test.
Used to test a wide spectrum of materials, the Abraser has been referenced in numerous standards and specifications.

The TABER Abraser is available in two models - with single or dual specimen tables. Both offer the same durable design and can be used interchangeably. Abrasers are available as 115V/60Hz or 230V/50Hz. When operated at 60Hz, the turntable rotates at 72 rpm. At 50Hz, the turntable rotates at 60 rpm.

Model: 5130 / 5131£¬feature a single specimen turntable.

  • Model 5130 - 115V, 50/60Hz

  • Model 5131 - 230V, 50Hz

  • CE approved

Model£º 5150 / 5151£¬feature a dual specimen turntable, which allows you to perform two tests simultaneously (test two different or identical specimens for comparison or contrast). Separate function keys operate the turntables independent of each other.

  • Model 5150 - 115V, 50/60Hz

  • Model 5151 - 230V, 50Hz

  • CE approved

operated with a Control Panel Membrane. Along with a numeric keypad, the Control Panel offers the following keys:

  • Cycle Selector Key - preset number of cycles

  • Vacuum Level Key - adjusts vacuum suction for test control

  • Cycles Completed Key - informs operator how many cycles have been completed (automatically activated once the start key is depressed)

  • Vacuum Only - enables user to operate just the vacuum (useful to clean the drive shaft and specimen table cavity or to operate the wheel refacer)

A vacuum system is included with each abraser, and is critical for the proper operation of the instrument. The vacuum suction pick-up arm(s) is hinged to an adjustable mounting at the rear of the housing. This allows the height to be modified for accommodating varying specimen thickness.

Precision stainless steel weights of 250 grams and 750 grams are furnished to provide standard wheel pressures of 500 and 1000 grams. NOTE: Weights are marked to show total load on each wheel. This marking includes the weight of the abrading arm.

Incorporated into the rear of the abraser are three additional electrical receptacles. Conveniently marked, each receptacle has been designated for the vacuum system or optional accessory instruments, and enables the user to control the operation from the abraser.
